Merritt began her legal career as an associate attorney at Saunders Kahler, L.L.P. in 1994 and became a partner on January 1, 2001. Merritt’s legal practice is focused on representing corporate and individual clients in Employment Law and Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Higher Education Law, Business Law, Not-for-Profit Law and Creditors Rights, including Bankruptcy.
Merritt received a B.A. in Economics from St. Lawrence University in 1989 and a Juris Doctorate from George Washington University in 1993. She is admitted to practice in New York State Courts and the Northern District of New York and Southern District of New York federal courts.
Merritt is a member of the Oneida County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the Central New York Bankruptcy Bar Association, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York Bar Association.
